A DEDICATED FUNDRAISER FOR THE BRIGHTER DAYS FOUNDATION.

Happy 35th birthday Tyler. This year we have raised over 8,000 dollars for The Brighter Days Foundation in your honor.

This year has been another amazing year of watching The Clique rally together for a cause greater than themselves. It never ceases to amaze me the good this fanbase can do when presented with not only a challenge but one that helps others.
The beauty of this fundraiser and why it has meant so much to us as a collective lies within the fact that Tyler himself chose it. The Brighter Days foundation is a charity localized in central Ohio. This allows Tyler to not only visually see the effects of the money we raised, but to have his own community included. With beneficiaries such as The Stowe Mission, Blessings In A Backpack, Habitat for Humanity Mid-Ohio and the James, this foundation has made tremendous ripples throughout the state of Ohio.

As always, this would not be possible if it weren't for the amazing fanbase standing behind these projects and believing in them so heavily. The Clique, as beautiful and pure as it is, proceeded to band together for what is becoming an annual event to create Twitter headers, art pieces, prints, hoodies, and more all to drive donations. Without them, none of this would be possible.

Tyler's courageousness is admirable. It is infectious as much as it is fascinating. It has impacted and changed all of our lives for the better.

Again, how do we give back for something as precious as that?

With another year of fundraising this brings us to roughly 51,000 raised for charity in just over one year in total.Thank you for helping us help others.

The Brighter Days Foundation provides funding and resources to some of central Ohio’s most impactful organizations, including Stowe Mission of Central Ohio, Blessings in a Backpack, Habitat for Humanity-MidOhio, and The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC-James). The Brighter Days Foundation also funds scholarships to various Ohio colleges (trade, commission, and four year) that are generally awarded to more rural communities. The foundation donated 388,000 dollars in 2021. Here is more information on each individual organization and their mission;Blessings In a Backpack: Blessings in a Backpack provide children with a backpack full of food to last the weekend. According to statistics, 1 in 8 children will experience food insecurity. Blessings in a Backpack is committed to ensuring kids go to school with a full stomach and ready to learn. Children fed by blessings in a backpack experience the following in their lives:
- 78% feel cared for by their community.
-71% feel they are helping their family.
-70% say their attendance is better in school.
-69% say it is easier to learn at school.
-67% say their family is happier.
-62% say they are hungry less often.
-60% have fewer behavioral issues at school.
(Results from 2015/2021 LPSOS Surveys)
It costs only $175 to feed a child for a full year, and the Brighter days foundation helps fund 4 different schools in Central Ohio.Stowe Mission: The Stowe Mission is a resource center that offers meals, healthcare, and educational opportunities for the Columbus area. They have served 162,000 meals to the community this year alone which averages out to 250 meals a day. They also offer a food pantry that is stocked with groceries and other basic needs. Along with healthcare, they offer free dental care to anyone - staffed by volunteer dentists and OSU students. This has no zip code restrictions, allowing this to reach more than just central Ohio. On top of this, they offer a vision clinic that allows for free eye exams and glasses to anyone, staffed by volunteer optometrists. This also has no zip code restrictions. Unfortunately, these services have limited hours, but with more donations they can serve more people in central Ohio.Habitat for Humanity Mid-Ohio: Habitat for Humanity builds homes for qualifying families in the region and teaches them financial literacy and maintenance skills to maintain the home. There is a special program through them dedicated to build housing for veterans that are underserved. They also offer home repair programs to help people remain in their homes and cover a portion of the build while also teaching homeowners how to fix things independently. The James - Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center: The James runs clinical trials on cancer treatments to get top of the line care to the most vulnerable cancer patients while offering holistic cancer care, such as; support groups, life planning, education, survivorship program, and family support. Donations to the James help fund research to innovate better cancer treatments. They currently have 339 clinical trials running on almost every type of cancer. The James is also one of the largest facilities in the midwest and the third largest in the country. While these might be the main beneficiaries, The Brighter Days Foundation does not discriminate. They donate and will continue to donate to all sorts of other missions spread out through Central Ohio!

DEAR TYLER,

A COLLECTION OF LETTERS TO EXPRESS OUR GRADITUDE AND APPRECIATION. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TYLER.

Cheyenne @Shlofolina: Dear Tyler, I think that beginning to write a letter is always the hardest part of your birthday. These annual chances to express not only gratitude and appreciation, but to express how much you mean to us as individuals feels pressurizing. I think you understand to some extent. It feels impossible to grant words to the experiences and motivation you have given me. I don't think I will ever find them. On your birthday, I find myself appreciating what it means to get older. I find myself with a sense of peace. An annual time where I am grateful and happy that we get to grow old, let alone do it together with the ones we love and who we allow to influence our lives so heavily. I've become mesmerized by aging, and you have become a centerpiece in the peace I've made with growing older. Some might consider it disrespectful to talk about the gray hairs that shine through, the wrinkles that line the face, and the eye bags that make their presence along the cheeks on someones birthday, but I find it beautiful. Thank you for embracing getting older. As I look at you grow older, I find the sleepless nights that age you too. The time spent raising your kids, making albums, touring, experiencing life for what it is in full. You Tyler, tell a story. A beautiful and triumphant one at that. As the clock strikes midnight and the calendar marks December 1st, know I feel a sense of accomplishment on your behalf. Thank you for continuing on. You've changed my life. Today, I'll celebrate not only you, but myself and others for making it to see your 35th.
Happy Birthday. You are a courageous poet. The best damn one the world will ever see.
With much love and celebration, Chey.
